Just a few kilometres from Kabana Village, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is an iconic seaside town, known for its fishing port and lively alleyways. Here, the atmosphere is friendly and you'll enjoy strolling along the quays lined with restaurants and shops. Don't miss the local market, where you can sample regional produce, including the famous sardine de Saint-Gilles, renowned for its quality and unique taste.

As for the beaches, the Grande Plage de Saint-Gilles is perfect for a relaxing afternoon, while surf and water sports fans will prefer the wilder spots nearby. For something a little out of the ordinary, hop aboard a boat for a mini-cruise along the coast or take an excursion to the Île d'Yeu.

Practical information:The Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie market takes place several times a week, notably on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. The port is accessible by car or by bike via the cycle paths from Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.

Les Sables-d'Olonne, between beach and heritage

Practical information:Les Sables-d'Olonne can be reached by car (around 45 minutes from Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez) or by train via the SNCF station. The Grande Plage is supervised in summer and equipped for people with reduced mobility.

Saint-Jean-de-Monts, the lively seaside resort

With its 8km beach, numerous shops and festive atmosphere, Saint-Jean-de-Monts is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Vendée coast. Here, everything is designed to make the most of your holiday: water sports activities, summer entertainment, beachside restaurants and local markets where you can discover regional flavours.

Nature lovers are not left out: the State forest and Monts marshes offer superb hiking and cycling trails, with landscapes of pine trees, dunes and stretches of water where you can spot many species of bird.

At the end of the day, don't miss a stroll along the estacade de Saint-Jean-de-Monts, a long jetty that juts out into the ocean and offers an exceptional panorama, especially at sunset.

Practical information : Saint-Jean-de-Monts is accessible by car or bike via the Vélodyssée. Entertainment and shows take place throughout the summer on the esplanade de la mer, and the beach is supervised in season.
